Reef Couture is an experimental fashion exploration created with AI, inspired by the organic intelligence of coral reefs and deep-sea ecosystems. Using Midjourney to generate sculptural, biomorphic garments that merge couture silhouettes with reef-like textures, I curated a visual concept and brand in Figma, exploring bold typography. Liquid Glass techniques were applied to enhance translucency, flow, and light interaction, giving the forms a living quality, while Grok was used to animate subtle movement.
As a photographer, I've spent years captivated by the textures, growth patterns, and colours found in nature, but reefs have always been out of reach (and I can't swim underwater either!), so AI has been used to aid my curiosity.
I have used various tools like MJ and ChatGPT to translate the wild, organic complexity of coral and marine life into intricate, abstract fashion and surface design, work that would be near-impossible to produce manually. The result is a body of pieces that feel both otherworldly and deeply rooted in the natural world.
Beyond fashion, this project demonstrates how a strong conceptual vision can stretch across forms, from couture to branded products.
